Terms of Use
The Terms of Using This Site.
Plain terms for using this website. The short version: read freely, take nothing here as advice on your own case, and nothing becomes a retainer until it is in writing and signed.
In short
Effective 10 August 2026
- Using the site means you accept these terms.
- Reading the site, or sending the form, does not make you a client.
- A consultant–client relationship begins only with a signed written retainer agreement.
- These terms are governed by the law of British Columbia.
01
Acceptance
These terms govern your use of https://www.theninthhouseimmigration.com and every page on it, operated by The Ninth House Immigration Solutions Inc.. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the site.
02
When you become a client — and when you do not
Reading this site, sending the callback form, emailing us, or speaking with us in a first consultation does not, on its own, make you a client of the firm and does not oblige us to act for you.
A consultant–client relationship begins only when we have checked for conflicts, agreed to act, and you and the firm have signed a written retainer agreement setting out the scope of the work and the fees — as the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants requires of every licensee. Until then, please do not rely on anything said or published here as advice given to you about your own matter, and do not send documents you would not want sitting in an ordinary inbox.
03
The information on this site
Everything published here — service descriptions, news summaries, Express Entry draw figures, program explanations, and answers to common questions — is general information about Canadian immigration, not advice about your situation. Immigration law, program criteria, and processing practice change frequently and without notice.
The Legal Disclaimer sets this out in full, and forms part of these terms.
04
What you send us through the site
When you use the form, you confirm that the information you give is true and that you are entitled to provide it — including where you are enquiring on behalf of a family member. You agree that we may contact you at the phone number and email address you give, about the enquiry you sent.
Do not send confidential case documents, identity documents, or account credentials through the form or by unencrypted email before a retainer is in place. Unsolicited material sent to us is handled with care, but we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of an unsolicited communication, and sending it does not create the protections that come with being a client.
05
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to submit false or misleading information;
- impersonate another person or misstate your connection to anyone;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its forms, its email delivery, or any underlying system;
- interfere with the site's operation, including by overwhelming it with automated requests; or
- reproduce substantial parts of the site's original content for commercial use without our permission.
Search engines and answer engines are welcome to crawl and cite this site, on the terms stated in our robots.txt file.
06
Intellectual property
The text, layout, design, photographs, and marks on this site are owned by the firm or used with permission, and are protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark law. You may read, print, and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, with attribution intact.
Government of Canada material summarised or linked here remains the property of the Crown, and third-party marks — including those of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants — belong to their owners and are used only to identify credentials and sources.
07
Links and third-party content
This site links to and summarises external sources, including Canada.ca announcements, Immigration and Refugee Board and College pages, university information, Google reviews, and our social media accounts. Those sources are not under our control. We link to them because they are useful, not because we endorse everything on them, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability. Where a matter turns on an official source, rely on the official source.
08
Availability and warranties
The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep it accurate and online, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, current, or free of harmful components. Live feeds — news items and draw figures in particular — depend on third-party sources and can lag or fail.
09
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the firm and its personnel are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website — including lost opportunities, missed deadlines, or decisions made on the basis of general information published here rather than on advice given to you as a client.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here reduces the professional obligations we owe to clients under a signed retainer or under the College's Code of Professional Conduct.
10
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify the firm against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.
11
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any right you have under the consumer protection law of your own jurisdiction.
12
Changes, and how to reach us
We may update these terms; the effective date above tells you which version applies. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
