Questions we’re asked first.
If yours isn’t here, put it in the message box above — no question is too small to ask before you commit to anything.
01How do I book a consultation with The Ninth House?
Send the contact form on this page, call +1 (778) 919-0026, or email info@theninthhouseimmigration.com. The form asks for your name, email, phone, the service you need, and your preferred time of day to be called. Once we have reviewed what you sent, we contact you to confirm a consultation time. Consultations are held by phone or video, so you can attend from wherever you are.
02How soon will someone reply to my message?
Enquiries sent during business hours are usually answered the same business day, and always within one business day. If your matter is time-sensitive — a hearing date, a removal date, or a filing deadline — call +1 (778) 919-0026 instead of using the form so it is not left waiting in an inbox.
03When can I reach you?
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific time, with Saturday appointments available on request. Messages sent outside those hours are picked up the next business morning. Consultations and document review are handled by phone, video, and email.
04Do you take clients outside Kamloops?
Yes. The Ninth House serves clients across the Cariboo and Thompson-Nicola regions — Williams Lake, Quesnel, 100 Mile House, Merritt, Cache Creek, Barriere, Chase, Clearwater, Clinton, and Ashcroft — and throughout British Columbia. Because Canadian immigration is federal, we also act for clients elsewhere in Canada and abroad.
05What should I have ready before my first consultation?
Have whatever you already hold within reach: passports and travel documents for everyone involved, any IRCC or CBSA letters you have received, application or UCI numbers, refusal letters, hearing notices, and a short timeline of what has happened so far. Nothing is a prerequisite — if documents are missing, we start with what you have and work out what is needed.
06What does a consultation cost?
The first call is a free 15-minute conversation to work out what your situation needs. Beyond that, fees depend on the type of matter and how much work it involves, so we quote them once we understand your case rather than from a price list. You will be told the fee before any work begins, and it is set out in a written retainer agreement as required by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.
07How do I confirm that Keerti Kumar is licensed to give immigration advice?
Search licence number R1033378 on the CICC Public Register at register.college-ic.ca, or use the Verify Credentials link on this page, which opens the register entry directly. In Canada, only licensed RCICs, lawyers, and Quebec notaries may give immigration advice or representation for a fee — always check any representative on the public register before you pay them.
08Can an RCIC-IRB represent me at a hearing, or do I need a lawyer?
An RCIC with the IRB designation can represent you. Keerti Kumar holds RCIC-IRB Class L3 Licence R1033378, which authorizes appearances before all four divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board: the Refugee Protection Division (RPD), the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD), the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD), and the Immigration Division (ID). Judicial review at the Federal Court is a separate matter that must be handled by a lawyer, and we will tell you plainly if your case reaches that point.
09Can you help if my application was already refused, or if another representative started it?
Yes. Refusals, appeals, and files begun elsewhere are a large part of the practice. Send the refusal letter or the current status of the file with your message — the reasons given in that letter determine whether the right next step is an appeal, a reconsideration request, or a fresh application, and we can usually tell you which after reading it.
10Is the information I send through this form confidential?
Yes. The form is submitted over an encrypted connection and protected by a bot check, and it reaches only the firm's own inbox. As a CICC licensee, Keerti Kumar is bound by the College's Code of Professional Conduct, which requires client information to be kept confidential. Please do not send passwords or IRCC account credentials — we never need them to open a file.
11Can you guarantee that my application will be approved?
No, and no licensed representative may promise one. Decisions rest with IRCC, CBSA, or the Immigration and Refugee Board. What we commit to is an honest assessment of your chances before you spend money, a properly prepared and fully documented application, and a clear explanation of the risks. Treat any consultant who guarantees approval or a visa as a warning sign.
12I am not sure which service to choose on the form. What should I select?
Choose General Inquiry and describe your situation in your own words in the message box. Picking the wrong category costs you nothing and does not delay the reply — we route the enquiry ourselves once we have read it.
Still unsure whether we can help? Call +1 (778) 919-0026 and ask. A short call costs nothing and is often enough to tell you which direction your case should go.
